All transportation will be provided between events throughout the day.
9:00 - 10:00 am Vietnamese Wedding Ceremony
This will take place at Kathy's home in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
This portion will be live-streamed for family and friends to watch from abroad who can't attend the wedding. It will be 11 hours earlier in EST in the U.S.
We will meet in the lobby at 8:30am for arranged transportation to Kathy's family home in District 8, (about 25 minutes from hotel).
All are welcome to attend this intimate and traditional ceremony at the bride's home. There will also be a live stream for those that can't make the journey to Vietnam, or prefer to watch from afar!
If attending, you can wear a traditional Vietnamese outfit ("Ao Dai" pronounced "Ow (like ouch!) Yai") which Kathy can help have prepared in your size ahead of the wedding, please let us know in the RSVP tab if you want to wear it and we will send you catalogue. You can also wear something business casual or semi-formal!
We will travel about 20-30 minutes by vans to Kathy's family home, where we will all gather outside, mostly in the alley, to watch the marriage ceremony happen. There will be a translator. It is a magical experience, but does requires some walking and standing, as the only seating will be for the immediate family while the guests on both sides stand around to observe and celebrate.
11:00 - 11:30am Mid-Day American Style Wedding Vows followed by Buffet Lunch
After returning by van to the Caravelle Hotel Saigon from Kathy's family home and the Tea Ceremony, there will be an American style ceremony at the hotel. We will get to celebrate a little of Jake's cultures and heritage and watch as the two exchange vows.
Everyone who doesn't join for the first part of the tea ceremony can join this time with us at the hall on 3rd floor of the hotel!!
Whatever you wore to the morning tea ceremony is fine for this as well: Vietnamese dress, business casual or semi-formal.
There will be a buffet lunch served following the ceremony.
6:00pm Wedding Reception & Dinner
The evening reception will also take place in the Caravelle Hotel Saigon. It will have a blend of Eastern and Western styles. Guests can choose to change into something more "American". Attire is semi-formal or formal
This is a fun time to take pictures with the bride and groom, celebrate, eat, dance, and of course, sing some karaoke!
10:00am - 1:00pm: Bruch at hotel for out-of-town guests and family
This farewell meal will also take place at the Caravelle Hotel Saigon.
